The Rotary Club of Maclean started The Tour de Woodford in 2008 as a means of bringing the area of the Clarence Valley all together that offered families and people the chance to have a good time with each other, but motivate the more competitive cyclist to pace themselves against their fellow riders on one of two open road course, 25 kilometres or 45 kilometres.

Brushgrove (Recreational Triangle park), has certainly shown as being a popular not just for the cyclists and their loved ones, but also the residents of Woodford Island. The cyclists come from all over the Valley and beyond, with big groups leaving Grafton, Yamba and Maclean very early in the morning.
